Gentoo Slices Available

By popular demand, Gentoo 2006.1 is now available as a distribution choice. One warning, if you’re rebuilding/adding/creating a Slice, it does take longer than the others (about 90 seconds) to create – so please be patient. Next – we’ll be working on OpenBSD, which after Gentoo is a popular request.

  1. Is it possible to install non-standart linux on slicehost? For example, such as Arch Linux?

  2. Val – not at the moment, we have to handle an install on our side. Send us your request and we’ll look into it.

  3. Any news on OpenBSD? Would be a killer!

  4. Please OpenBSD!!!!

  5. Any updates? What about FreeBSD and Open Solaris? Any chance you’ll support these anytime soon?

  6. OpenBSD is requested more than FreeBSD? I’m surprised. I’ve always wanted to switch to slicehost, but the lack of BSD has held be back… although it shouldn’t. The linux offerings are good, just foreign to me.

  7. Yes, having OpenBSD virtual machines would be wonderful.
