Heavy packet loss starting @ 2045 GMT
Appears to be an upstream issue at the moment, we’ll have more details later in another post. Our apologies for the downtime and flurry of pages/emails/calls you all likely received.
Update 2145 GMT – issue appears to be resolved.

thanks for the heads up for this. I don’t keep track but this is the first downtime in 8 months that i’ve noticed, so thanks!

It’s unfortunate that the downtime came at the MOST important day for my site. At first I thought it had something to do with the traffic I got but when I couldn’t login through my SliceManager I knew something was wrong… Hopefully everything is ok now and the damages made won’t cause serious problems.

Our office connection (in Seattle) got very slow/flaky at pretty much the same time—just a coincidence or maybe something more widespread?

At my day job we took a hit on our globalcrossing links about that same time, but the domestic backbone links were clean between datacenters all day.

Issue is not fixed. I saw over 90% packet loss around 4PM EST Friday, for both my slice and slicehost.com.
This could not possibly happen at a worse time (peak business hours).
Can you please give us an update as to exactly what is going on?

Looks like it hit again today. Is that true?
