Slicehost tidbits
We’re working on lots of little things as we close out 2007:
- Today Arch Linux was added to the list of OS options. We’ve received several requests for Arch and it’s a good choice for power users.
- The mobile version of SliceManager has also been updated, be sure to bookmark it for stats gathering and reboots via the road.
- The bandwidth alerts are now emailed when you hit 80% of your Slice’s limit in order to provide lead time.

Arch, awesome. I love how bleeding edge they keep their repositories. Switched over my slice the second I saw the option.

great to have options.

80% bandwidth use notification, now THAT is useful. Great work, folks. Now I can run my streaming server with confidence and not worry about hitting my limit some month.

Way to go! Arch Linux is awesome for people who like complete Customization almost like Gentoo but without the time-consuming compilations.

Archlinux … ? I hate this. Now I have to decide whether to rebuild my slice using Arch. Ubuntu Dapper is running well but the temptation for Arch, ah.. cant’ stop it ;)
Maybe I would just add new slice for testing, say for a month. Is it ok ?

If it wasn’t ok, then the “Add A Slice” and “delete slice” buttons wouldn’t exist in slicemanager ;)

+1 on wanting to rebuild my slice using Arch. Arch was a favorite of mine for a while but Debian/Ubuntu is so smooth right now that I probably won’t rebuild.
Glad that Arch was added though =).

Checked out the mobile SliceManager. Nice! However, you might want to add a quick line to make it look pretty on an iPhone.

Currently I have to zoom in a lot to get to the username input field. If you add the ‘viewport’ meta tag, it automatically zooms in for you.
