Heck, 256MB isn’t even cramping my style. But it’s great to know that the option is there to upgrade to such a huge Slice. Keep up the great work guys!

Heck, some of the ultra-light users probably wouldn’t mind getting a $2-$4/month discount by being able to choose a 128mb or 192mb slice.
Especially considering that we can always easily upgrade our slices and the overages for bandwidth are actually reasonable, I’d imagine a person or two (ha) would take up the offer.

@Dan IMO 256 slice is already a bargain.
With 4096 slices here, does anyone still needs a dedicated server? :)

This is pretty good, a little steep at $280, but I like that the option is there. Hopefully by the time I need one, Slicehost will offer a dedicated server that runs their custom backend softwar

Remember all payments over $240 get a 10% bonus credit applied.

The pricing looks a little weird. For 512 and 1024 it’s a little less than double the price of the slice below it. Yet for 2Gb and 4Gb it’s exactly double price. Since the specs on each slice double on each tier, you would think the price per unit would go down the more you pay on the 2 highest ones.

@Shawn I believe a 2gb and 4gb slices are a unique offer on the market so guys have legimate right to charge extra margin :).
P.S. Don’t mind paying less, just love Slicehost :)

Note what Matt said about payment of $240 and more getting 10% added to the account.
As such, a monthly payment of $280 for a 4G Slice actually credits the account with $308, which, for those mathematicians out there means, a ‘free’ month every 10 months.

In my opinion, the current 2GB and 4GB slices are a bit high priced.
I have no idea how many people get put in a server if everyone has a 4GB slice, but I would want everyone to be able to fit in one car for sure, a small car at that.
And I would guess getting 2×2GB slices is better bang for your buck, even after the 10% discount…
I have and always will love your 256MB/512MB/1GB prices, but the 2GB/4GB, I dont think it fits in line with your lower offerings

I don’t see the issue with the pricing.
(4096/256 = 16) x $20 = $320 (4096/512 = 8) x $38 = $304 They are charging $280.
(2048/256 = 8) x $20 = $160 (2048/512 = 4) x $38 = $152 They are charging $140.
And $140 (2048) x 2 = $280

Awesome! Great work guys. As for the pricing, I don’t see the issue.

Are you guys moving to some big iron to support this? If I recall right, the original physical servers that you sliced up in the beginning only had 4 or 8 gigs of RAM. What sized slice is a whole machine now?
